Redesigning a business checking onboarding process for small and midsize businesses
Overview
For Customers Bank’s small and medium-sized business onboarding application, designed complex flow diagrams, user personas, wireframes, and hi-fi designs. Coordinated with content managers and had daily syncs with our off-site development team to audit and QA product and emails. Also managed/organized the component-based design system.

UX enhancements to the onboarding application contains a questionnaire that helps identify specific product bundles that a small or medium-sized business may find useful, or if they require lines of credit or a loan. Previously, all options were shown and left up to the user to sort through.

The application process is streamlined and easy to understand, and includes similarly branded email notifications for important steps along the way, allowing a user to save their progress and revisit.

The design file contained both flow diagrams with each screen in the place in the process where it would appear - which was an effective way to communicate the customer’s journey with our development team.

The component-based design system allowed for standardization of branded elements, and an easy way to update flows which had many different variants.
